Sorensen Leather gets animal protection endorsement
Danish leather supplier Sorensen recently launched a new, fully traceable, leather collection called Vita.
Taking the Latin derivation for "life", Vita is the only leather approved by Dyrenes Beskyttelse (Animal Protection Denmark).
Produced in close collaboration with skin and hide trading company Himmerlandskod A/S, from their Nordjysk Naturkod project, the leather is made from hides exclusively from animals that pasture in North Jutland in Denmark,
Using laser engraving, the hides can be traced back to the individual animal, from farms that adhere to the strict requirements of the “approved by Animal Protection Denmark” scheme. Fewer than 50 farmers are certified by the scheme that has a high focus on animal welfare, including environmental measures.
