13th All Africa Leather Fair confirmed
The Ethiopian Leather Industries Association (ELIA)'s All Africa Leather Fair event will be held at the Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa from April 20 to 22.
Solomon Getu, ELIA secretary-general, told local media at a recent press conference that the “All Africa Leather Fair is an important trade show that links Africa to the rest of the world".
According to the association, over 200 exhibitors, including tanneries, leathergoods manufacturers, garment producers and wider industry supply chain companies and institutions are expected to take part.
ELIA president, Redwan Bedada, added that some 15,000 local and 2,000 foreign visitors are expected at the trade show.
With an abundant raw material availability and a large, trainable work force, it was noted that challenges are still faced by the sector and that the fair will enable industry actors to exchange technology, innovation, ideas and know-how.
