Leather has search appeal
Industry representative body Leather UK says that leather is out performing other materials in UK based web searches.
Using data provided by MediaVision, a UK based search performance agency, search terms including the word leather saw a 2.1% increase. Calling it “fabric of the week”, the performance company found that while web searches for all other non-branded fashion terms had decreased in popularity, year on year, leather had increased.
Posting on social media, Leather UK said: ”It’s great to see quantifiable evidence that consumers are actively searching for leather products.”
The information was compiled from UK search platform data by Mediavision’s Metis, using analysis of AdWords and Google trends to provide weekly market information.
