Alarm in Turkey as ministry confirms foot and mouth outbreak
20/03/2023
Quarantine measures are in place in five Turkish provinces after the country’s ministry of agriculture confirmed foot and mouth disease in cattle there.
Reports say the ministry has become alarmed by the spread of the disease and there is speculation that imported live cattle may be the source of the outbreak.
Restrictions are now in place on the movement of cattle from one province to another and cattle markets have been halted.
