NTE tanning specialist retires
South Africa based wattle specialist NTE held a celebratory dinner to coincide with the recent APLF show in Dubai. With celebrations for their centenary taking place just before the covid pandemic forced the world into lockdown, the celebrations this time round were to pay tribute to NTE business manager Nigel Dunning and his approaching retirement, although only starting with the company in 2004, he remarked that his entry to the industry started at a tannery over 47 years ago.
Invited guests, including agents, colleagues and industry friends enjoyed a dinner cruise around the Dubai marina.
NTE general manager Nigel Payne told guests that Mr Dunning will continue a connection with the company in a consulting capacity and thanked him for his “friendship and help” in the years they had worked together.
The event, initially intended as a surprise party was inadvertently leaked to Mr Dunning but he said the venue was still a surprise “I’m a little bit overwhelmed, thank you and thank you for the gifts, though I’m not sure how I’ll get them all in my suitcase”.
