April date for World Leather Day 2023
Campaign platform Leather Naturally has designated Wednesday, April 26 as World Leather Day for this year.
Working with multi-stakeholder body Leather Working Group, Leather Naturally launched World Leather Day in 2022, saying their aim was to encourage as wide an audience as possible to talk about leather, urging representatives of the industry to raise awareness of leather’s positive attributes, including its durability, versatility and sustainability credentials as an upcycled material.
During the APLF exhibition in Dubai, Leather Naturally said the initiative had received strong support from leather manufacturers, chemical and machinery suppliers, finished product brands and schools last year and called on them to mark April 26 this year in a similar way.
Ahead of this year’s World Leather Day, the organisers will share a social media kit, including images, text in various languages and hashtags for use on April 26 and is asking participants to use the material on the day to celebrate “the long-lasting beauty of leather and its place in a circular economy”.
