Hong Kong set for return
The 37th APLF exhibition opened on March 13. Director of organising company, APLF Limited, David Bondi, confirmed at a press conference on the first day that this would be the last time the show would be held in Dubai, a venue originally chosen due to its open status with regard to the covid-19 pandemic. For 2024 the exhibition will return to its home base of Hong Kong, to be held between March 19-21, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Organisers also confirmed that the layout of the exhibition will continue as planned with leather moving to level 3. Explanation for this was given by APLF event director, Grace Lee, saying that the location would give more space for exhibitors, where there has been increased interest from chemical companies to return to the show.
With APLF hosting special events in 2022 and 2023, in Dubai and Bangkok, the organisers explained that these will not be returning, as focus was needed on the reinstated flagship Hong Kong show, but, they would “think carefully” and would support an event should the industry want it, with Mr Bondi adding “the answer is no, but we could change our minds”.
