Co-founders walk away from The Restory
Specialist aftercare service provider The Restory, which repairs high-end leathergoods and shoes to keep them in use for longer, is to go into liquidation. Co-founder Vanessa Jacobs made the announcement at the end of February. Ms Jacobs said her heart was broken.
She and co-founders Thaís Cipolletta and Emily Rea resigned from the company in mid-February. One week later, Vanessa Jacobs said, the rest of the team working at The Restory were made redundant and that the company would go into liquidation.
The London-based business ran for six years, using high levels of customer service, a love of craftsmanship and a passion for sustainability to build what Ms Jacobs described as a company “to whom the world’s leading brands could entrust their most important relationships”.
She explained that “recent changes” had led the co-founders to walk away.
In August 2022, new investors from the US became involved in running The Restory.
