Still no buyer for profitable Wolverine Leathers

22/02/2023

The Wolverine Leathers business, which parent company, the Wolverine Worldwide footwear group, is in the process of selling, achieved revenues of $58.6 million in 2022 and contributed $4.4 million towards group profits.

These figures represent year on year growth of 11.4% in revenue year on year and a 76% increase in profit.

Wolverine Worldwide announced in December that it had decided to “let go” of Wolverine Leathers, its in-house supplier of leather, as part of a series of cost-saving measures. It described the leather division as a “low-profit contributor” and said it wanted to create more value for shareholders.

Revenues for the whole group reached almost $2.7 billion in 2022, an increase of 11.2% year on year.
