Sustainability Forum programme complete

Brazil’s national tanning industry association CICB will run its 2023 Sustainability Forum on March 8 in Novo Hamburgo. It will take place during the Fimec exhibition, which runs from March 7-9.

This year, the Sustainability Forum will have as its theme ‘The Path Towards Traceability’.
The programme will include an overview of the leather sector from CICB sustainability consultant, Ricardo Andrade.

A series of technical presentations will follow, with agricultural engineer Jordan Timo Carvalho talking about the use of geotechnical systems in the livestock value chain, tanning technology specialist Domenico Feltre addressing the question of the use of laser technology for traceability during the tanning process and Cesare dal Monte from technology provider GER giving a presentation on the importance of data in the automation of the leather sector.

After this, Mathias Almeida, an entrepreneur who focuses on helping businesses develop responsible sourcing strategies, will speak about sustainable production of livestock.

The Sustainability Forum will conclude with a panel discussion involving tanners Alisson Granemann de Medeiros of Viposa and José Roberto Pachecco of Midori Autoleather, and head of agriculture and livestock industry body CAN, Francisco Olavo Pugliesi de Castro.
