Figures released by the US Department for Agriculture, compiled by the US Meat Export Federation (USMEF), showed record figures for beef exports in 2022.

Meat companies exported 1.47 million tonnes of beef from the US last year, bringing in revenues of almost $11.7 billion. These figures represent new records for volume and for value and growth of 2% and 10%, respectively, year on year.

Beef exports also reached new record figures in a number of key markets, including South Korea, which posted the highest-ever value for a single country with $2.7 billion.

There were also records for shipments to China, Taiwan, the Philippines and Singapore.
