All-African Leather Fair confirmed for February
Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa, will host the All-African Leather Fair (AALF) 2023 from February 16 to 18.
The event will be organised by the Ethiopian Leather Industries Association (ELIA) and it is expected to give a commercial boost to the leather sector in many parts of Africa following a slowdown caused by the covid-19 pandemic in the last two years.
ELIA indicated that to motivate the sector, the Ethiopian government has launched a school shoe and bag project.
The whole supply chain of the leather industry will be covered at AALF by bringing together tanners, footwear and leathergoods manufacturers. There will be equipment, technology and chemical suppliers, training institutions, and trade promotion agencies from various countries.
In addition, the event will include fashion shows, panel discussions and a leather talent show. AALF is designed to promote intra-continental trade and also double as a business platform to facilitate contacts from other areas of the world.
