Burberry strengthens executive team
Leathergoods and fashion brand Burberry has announced two appointments in newly created positions to strengthen its digital and innovation department, and its merchandising arm.
Giorgio Belloli has been named chief digital, customer and innovation officer. Burberry has also appointed Delphine Sonder as chief merchandising officer, both with immediate effect.
Based in London and reporting directly to chief executive, Jonathan Akeroyd, Mr Belloli will be responsible for leading the global e-commerce, digital product, and analytics teams, as well as a newly formed innovation function. Ms Sonder will lead merchandising and global planning across accessories and ready-to-wear, as well as product strategy.
On making the appointments, Jonathan Akeroyd commented: “These appointments reinforce our ambitions for this next phase, building on our strong legacy of innovation, and strengthening the alignment between our commercial offering and our new creative vision.”
