Packers, traders and tanners shipped a total of 28.4 million hides from the US to overseas markets in the first 11 months of 2022, bringing in export revenues of just under $1.2 billion.

These figures confirm a contraction that was evident throughout 2022. Export volume for the January-November period was down by 11.2% year on year. In terms of value, the decline was 7.5%.
