Saint Laurent CEO makes the list
The chief executive of Saint Laurent, Francesca Bellettini, features in a list compiled by the Financial Times to highlight the 25 most influential women of 2022.
Ms Bellettini was nominated for the unranked list by the newspaper’s former fashion editor and current editor of its How To Spend It magazine, Jo Ellison.
Giving her reasons for including Francesca Bellettini among the women on the list, Ms Ellison said she had overseen “extraordinary growth” since moving to Saint Laurent in 2013, achieving revenues of €916 million, 40% growth, in the third quarter of 2022, for example. “And she has done it without a murmur of any fuss,” Ms Ellison said.
Ms Bellettini told the FT her secret for running the brand well was to achieve a good balance across its ranges, including a balance between products for men and women and making sure, as the newspaper put it, “the inventory has not been overwhelmed by streetwear trends”.
