Bag brand buys into Spoor’s system for making leather traceable
German accessories brand Lutz Morris is the latest finished product company to buy into the leather traceability guarantees on offer from Danish supplier of semi-processed traceable hides, Spoor.
Spoor uses a laser-technology based system for marking and identifying hides. This allows partner finished leather manufacturers and finished product manufacturers to pinpoint where the leather in a specific item came from.
Lutz Morris is an advocate of slow fashion and offers bags that it makes by hand in Germany.
The collection that has come out of its collaboration with Spoor launched on November 5. It comprises bags in its Blaine, Parker and Parker Horizon styles.
For this project, Spoor supplied traceable, semi-processed leather to a partner tannery in Germany for finishing.
Lutz Morris said its aim was to “increase sourcing transparency through traceable, responsibly tanned leather”.
