Leather manufacturer Muirhead, part of Scottish Leather Group, has joined the Green Cabin Alliance (GCA), a body that seeks “to enable sustainable aviation aircraft interiors”.

Muirhead said its expertise in producing lightweight, low-carbon leather for the aviation industry, as well as for other transportation applications, dovetails with this aim.

Head of sustainability and innovation at parent company Scottish Leather Group, Dr Warren Bowden, said: “We look forward to taking concrete steps towards the decarbonisation of aircraft cabins and to working with respected industry partners who share our commitment to lower carbon and naturally sustainable materials in cabin design.”
