SLG names new chief executive

Scottish Leather Group (SLG) has announced Steve Henning as its new chief executive. He takes over from Iain McFadyen, who retired at the end of September.

Mr Henning has held leadership positions at a number of engineering and manufacturing groups in the UK, Asia and the Americas.

He said on taking the post at SLG that a key motivation for him had been the conviction that the leather manufacturing group’s commitment to quality. He said he was also impressed by the group’s investment in, and progress towards becoming net-zero by 2025.
He described SLG’s claim that it makes the lowest-carbon leather in the world as an important market differentiator.

He added: “Every member of the team with whom I have spoken has shown a great passion for, and immense pride in, Scottish Leather Group. I look forward to leading them and our business in continuing growth and success over the coming years.”
