Spanish meat industry leader invests in Uruguay
Spanish group Vall Companys has announced an investment in Uruguay’s livestock, packing and agriculture sectors.
An initial investment of $50 million will lead to the construction of a new slaughter and packing plant for beef exports and feedlots.
The group has an annual turnover of €2.3 billion , with 45 companies located in Spain and Portugal.
It produces pork, beef and poultry and also flour and pharmaceutical products specialising in animal health. In addition, the group has insemination centres, incubators, and a logistics company.
