Financial support for tanneries in Italy

13/09/2022

Italy’s ministry of economic development has allocated a fund of €10 million to support the leather supply chain on its path to recovery after the difficulties triggered by the pandemic.

On September 6, a decree was issued explaining the terms and procedures for submitting applications for subsidies and how to access the funds allocated by the ministry.

The ministry is interested in granting subsidies to leather manufacturers that are working on innovative ideas and investing substantially in research and development.

Companies operating in the tanning industry in Campania, Lombardy, Marche, Tuscany, and Veneto can benefit from this programme.

Subsidies will be granted upon completing satisfactory evaluation procedures. Companies have until November 8 to apply.
