All change at Marfrig

05/09/2022

The CEO of Brazilian packing and tannery group Marfrig, Miguel Gularte, resigned and his position will be filled by Rui Mendonça Junior, the company has announced.

The Brazil Journal reported that Gularte will take over as CEO of BRF to replace Lorival Luz, who had held that position for the last three years.

Marfrig increased its stake in BRF by acquiring 33.25% of its share capital last year, after Marfrig founder, Marcos Molina, took control of BRF’s board in March.

Rui Mendonça Junior has been working at Marfrig since 2007. Until now, he was South America director of its processed products business.

Marfrig acquired a controlling stake in the meat and leather business of National Beef in 2018.
