Preparations for a free-trade agreement between Uruguay and China continue, with Chinese customs representatives including slaughterhouses and refrigeration plants in the South American country among the facilities they have inspected.

Uruguay’s ministry of livestock and agriculture has said that if the results of these inspections are positive, it will clear the way for an increase in beef exports into the valuable Chinese market.
