Spanish footwear industry body FICE has reported export figures for the first five months of this year that showed growth in value compared to pre-pandemic levels.

Footwear exports, during the first five months of the year, reached a value of almost €1.25 billion, up by 19.2% compared to the same period in 2021. This figure is also 3.3% higher than the figure for the corresponding months in 2019.

Compared to pre-pandemic figures, there was growth in value for Spanish footwear shipments to key markets such as France, Italy and Germany, with increase of 7.2%, 8.4% and 9.1% respectively.
