Footwear and leather producer Ecco has completed a renovation project at its headquarters in Bredebro in southern Denmark. Bredebro has been the company’s home since it launched nearly 60 years ago. 

As part of the recent refurbishment, it moved its research and innovation department into the original onsite warehouse. The project also included the planting of 88 trees inside the building.

Chief executive, Panos Mytaros, explained that the site was also home to Ecco’s finance, IT, supply chain, human resources, corporate responsibility and procurement functions. In total, 350 people of 40 different nationalities work there.

He said: “We have great respect for our legacy. Many years from now, you will still find us in Bredebro.”
