Tuscan tanners’ tie-up
Santa Croce sull’Arno-based leather manufacturer Masoni Industria Conciaria has acquired a minority stake in another Tuscan tannery, Ulivieri & Nardi.
Chief executive, Fabrizio Masoni, said this operation would help the company manage an increase of 30% in its production capacity, which it hopes to put in place in 2023. He said Masoni Industria Conciaria also aimed to increase its workforce of 60 by 20% over the same timeframe.
Owner of Castelfranco di Sotto-based Ulivieri & Nardi, Maurizio Ulivieri, said he had entered into the deal to help his company grow alongside a strong and structured organisation. He said he believed growth would help protect the know-how of the Tuscan tanning cluster.
