Cattle slaughter and beef exports increase in Brazil

In the second quarter of 2022 around 5.5 million cattle were slaughtered in Brazil, an increase of 4% compared to the same quarter in 2021.

Beef exports reached 463,000 tonnes in the second quarter of 2022, a rise of 18% year-on-year.

Export revenues in the quarter reached $3 billion, an increase of 54% year on year, driven by the increase in beef prices in the international market.
