According to the president of the Turkish Leather Industrialists’ Association, Burak Uyguner, approximately one million animals were slaughtered for Eid-al-Adha celebrations across the country in early July.

Mr Uyguner said the holiday was an important time for the leather industry, generating in only a few days what he estimated to be almost $30 million worth of raw material, which, after processing, would generate added value of just under $300 million.
