Brazil: furniture sector growth continues into first half of 2022
Furniture manufacturers in Brazil achieved export revenues of $956 million in 2021, an increase of 51% compared to the previous year. The executive director of furniture industry association Abimóvel, Cândida Cervieri, shared the figures with leatherbiz at the Inspiramais exhibition in Porto Alegre, adding that buyers in 174 countries imported furniture from Brazil last year.
She said that, in the first five months of 2022, member companies had achieved a further increase of 21% in export revenues compared to the same months in 2021.
She pointed out that the Brazilian furniture sector took its largest-ever delegation to Milan’s Salone Del Mobile in June 2022, with more than 40 companies taking part.
