A tannery that will be Kenya’s largest is ready to step up production.

Construction of the facility, located in the Ewaso Ngiro area, began in 2018, with finance for the project coming from the Kenyan government through a local development authority.

It has reached an agreement for the Kenya Meat Commission to supply hides in bulk and has said it will now be able produce 800,000 square-feet of leather per year, compared to a figure of around 64,000 at the moment.
