Labour shortage affects French footwear sector
The president of France’s Conseil National du Cuir, Frank Boehly, has said a shortage of of qualified footwear technicians and factory workers is holding the French footwear sector back from growing its exports.
In recent comments to business media outlet Les Echos, Mr Boehly said there had been an upturn in demand for footwear following the pandemic, but that the industry in France had been unable to take full advantage owing to labour shortages.
