A Hermès Birkin Faubourg handbag has sold for a record price of €158,000 at specialist pre-loved leathergoods and fashion outlet Vestiare Collective.

Only 50 Birkin Faubourg bags were produced, making them popular among collectors on the rare occasions when they come up for sale. This sale beats the previous record price by €46,000.

According to Vestiare Collective, the average price of a Birkin bag has increased by 15% this year alone and the number of searches for the bags that it has recorded on its website is up by 20% compared to 2021.
