Production in full swing at leathergoods brand’s own tannery

16/06/2022

A former wholesale distributor for global brands, Biba, which began to make its own leathergoods in 2014, has recently achieved another milestone, full production at a tannery it acquired in 2020.

Biba launched in 1990 and had been sourcing leather from other tanners to make bags at its own facilities in Spain and Morocco and at the factories of outsource manufacturing partners in China and India.

It finalised a deal to acquire its own tannery in Vic, a key leather-producing town in Catalonia, just as the covid-19 pandemic was beginning and it has taken until now for production there to reach full capacity.
