A strong ten months for leather in Pakistan
Pakistan exported 13.2 million square-metres of finished leather in the first ten months of the current financial year, the period from July 2021 to April 2022. This volume of leather brought in export earnings of more than $170 million.
These figures, compiled by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, mean growth of more than 45% in volume and of 33% in terms of value.
Footwear companies exported 15.7 million pairs of shoes over the ten-month period, bringing in revenues of $130 million, growth of 11.5% in volume and of 21% in value, year on year.
