TFL presentation will focus on bio-based finishing chemicals
Leather chemicals developer TFL will present its analysis of bio-based finishes at the 2022 Freiberg Leather Days conference, which takes place in Chemnitz on May 11 and 12.
TFL’s head of product marketing for leather finishing, Michael Franken, will give a presentation on bio-based finishes on the second day of the event.
In the build-up, TFL said that the choice of products with a significant bio content had been limited in the past, adding that it had been “almost impossible to make high-performance bio finishes” for tanners to use. The use of polymeric chemistry has, therefore, become widespread.
The company has said it believes that modern chemistry has changed this and that there are new technologies that make use of biomaterials without sacrificing performance.
