Ukraine’s new ambassador to Australia, Vasyl Myroshnychenko, has invested in a pair of RM Williams boots, saying he wanted to make a gesture of thanks to Australia for its support of Ukraine in the war against Russia. 

Mr Myroshnychenko took up his post in Canberra in April and was quick to praise his host country for providing materials to help Ukraine’s war effort.

At the start of May, he said he had decided to buy a pair of boots from South Australia-based RM Williams to say a personal thank you.

The footwear company was established 90 years ago. In 2020, it was acquired by Perth-based investment group Tattarang.
