Pakistan leather industry to call in consultants

The Pakistan Tanners Association is inviting expressions of interest from consultants for a project aimed at helping leather manufacturers in the Korangi tanning cluster, near Karachi, to reduce their carbon emissions.

Qualified consultants have until May 18 to submit an expression of interest in the work. The project will involve undertaking a baseline study of greenhouse gas emissions in Korangi and then to recommend ways of reducing emissions.

There is also a requirement for carrying out energy audits and waste assessments at 25 tanneries in the cluster.
