São Paulo event to foment debate about methane emissions
Leather chemicals group Silvateam is joining forces with Brazilian group JBS to host an event to promote debate and reflection about methane emissions from cattle, and about steps that can help decelerate global warming.
The event will take place in person in São Paulo on May 4 and 5. Delegates will be able to attend online too. Speakers will include Professor Frank Mitloehner from the University of California at Davis, and Diana Rodgers, director of the film ‘Sacred Cow’.
JBS’s head of relations with livestock farmers, Fábio Dias, said ahead of the event: “We are developing methane mitigation projects.
President of Silvateam’s business in Brazil, Michele Battaglia, explained that the company had been working for 15 years to develop new animal nutrition solutions. He said tannins, saponins and polyphenols will be able to replace antibiotics and improve animal welfare, “all while reducing the impact of climate-changing gas emissions”.
