Spanish and Hungarian groups to present animal welfare strategy

Two meat industry organisations from Spain and one from Hungary will join forces in Brussels on April 27 to present a new animal welfare programme at the European Parliament.

Spanish organisations Interovic and Provacuno have worked with Hungary’s JTT to prepare a campaign called ‘European Animal Welfare of Ruminants’.

This is a three-year project that will aim to help livestock farmers achieve some of the environmental and animal welfare objectives the European Commission set out in Farm To Fork, a strategy it published in 2020.
