First female president for Red Wing Shoe Company
Red Wing Shoe Company has appointed Allison Gettings as its president. Ms Gettings will be the company’s first female president and will oversee its operations, marketing, business technology and corporate social responsibility functions. She will report to chief executive, Mark Urdahl.
Allison Gettings is the daughter of Bill Sweasy, the former chief executive and chairman of the company, which runs the SB Foot tannery in Minnesota as well as footwear brands Red Wing, Vasque, Irish Setter and Worx. She represents the fourth generation of the Sweasy family to hold a leadership position there.
She has worked at the company for 13 years in nine different roles across five different departments, leading to her becoming vice president and chief services officer in 2020.
She will begin a transition process immediately and will assume the role of company president in July 2022.
