Australian cattle herd to increase in 2022

Industry body Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) has published its first cattle industry projections for 2022.
It said above-average rainfall in New South Wales and Queensland will help the national cattle herd rebuild this year. It projected an increase of 1.1 million hear this year, taking the total herd size to 27.2 million.
It said an increase in cattle availability will also lead to an increase in slaughter this year.
