Leather for furniture grows in value by 40% in ten years

Milan-based furniture industry market research provider CSIL has said that leather for furniture upholstery had a value of $75 billion in 2020.

During a webinar that CSIL presented on December 15 with Italian tanning industry body UNIC, it said the 2020 figure represented an increase of 40% over the span of ten years.

At the event, CSIL researcher Matteo Grigolini, said figures for 2021 so far suggest a further increase of 5% this year, which would take the market value to $78.75 billion.
