Shared responses are required, Assomac president says

Italy’s main industry body for tanning, footwear and leathergoods machinery developers, Assomac, held its annual assembly in Milan on November 5.

It said its member companies had achieved combined revenues of €440 million in 2020, with 70% of that total coming from export markets. Together, they employ around 4,000 workers.

Assomac president, Maria Vittoria Brustia, told the assembly that it was important for machinery developers to help their customers in the fashion industry to achieve two principal aims: to make their business more digital and more sustainable. “Global challenges require firm, fast, shared responses,” she said.
