Spring-summer 2023 trends catalogue available from TFL

02/11/2021

Leather chemicals group TFL has released a new trends catalogue, highlighting the colours that finished product brands are likely to prefer in their spring-summer 2023 collections.

Based on TFL’s analysis, trends for that season will fall into two categories that it has called ‘wearing’, for fashion products, and ‘living’, for interior design.

In the first of these, we will see what TFL describes as “an explosion of feathered effects and superlight padded designs in which the leather’s grain floats on airy, spongy collagen”.

In ‘living’, a strong theme is to evoke places that remind us of childhood, loved ones and holidays.

TFL suggests that tanners will make this possible by offering calfskin, lambskin and bovine leathers “with charming finishes” and weights that reflect softness.

The company has published a full catalogue that explores the trends in depth.
