Claus Reineking leaves Stahl to become Langro MD

Stuttgart-based leather chemicals manufacturer Langro-Chemie has announced that its managing director, Tilo Schumacher, has stepped down after 23 years in the role and after a total of 46 years at the company.

His successor is Claus Reineking, who has left his role as Stahl’s global technical director for leather, to take up the managing director position at Langro.

Mr Reineking studied leather production at the Reutlingen tanning school at the end of the 1980s. After short spells of work at Smit & Zoon and Ecco Leather he spent 14 years at Clariant, transferring to Stahl in 2014 after the Netherlands-based group acquired Clariant’s leather services business.

At Stahl, he fulfilled several global roles before becoming the group’s global technical director for leather in September 2019.

Langro-Chemie’s leather finishing business was acquired by Trumpler three years ago.
