First-half French hide and leather exports up

Tanners and traders in France exported leather worth €109.9 million in the first half of 2021, an increase of 20% year on year.

Exports of finished leather accounted for nearly all of this, bringing in €95 million. The €15 million from semi-finished leather represented an increase of 83%.

Over the same six-month period, French meat companies and traders exported €117.7 million worth of raw hides and skins, an increase of 50% year on year.
