Hide industry organisation changes its name
France’s representative body for hide and skin traders is changing its name. The organisation has been known as the Syndicat Général des Cuirs et Peaux since its launch in 1948, but will now go by a new name, Fédération Française des Cuirs et Peaux, or the French Hides & Skins Federation.
A statement from the organisation’s president, Christophe Dehard, said the new name suggested dynamism and the willingness of member companies to embrace innovation and meet new challenges.
Maintaining high quality in France’s hide and skin supply would remain a priority, the statement said.
