Horween leather in demand again for Wolverine Labor Day collection

As in previous years in the build-up to the Labor Day holiday (the first Monday in September), footwear group Wolverine has announced a new collaboration. This year, the partnership is with truck brand Ram and is, the footwear company said, a celebration of essential workers.

A collection of boots resulting from the collaboration is inspired by “the performance and bold details of Ram Trucks”, Wolverine said. For each item customers pre-order, the companies will donate $10 to SkillsUSA, a non-profit organisation that provides training to allow young people to take up a skilled tradespeople.

Global brand president, Tom Kennedy, said that Wolverine began these Labor Day collaborations in 2017 and that, since then, it has donated more than $2 million “toward supporting the next generation of skilled workers”.

The boot collection includes a limited-edition version of the 1000 Mile Boot, made, as in previous Labor Day collaborations, using leather from Chicago-based tannery Horween.
