Demand for beef remains strong, Tyson says
Packer and leather group Tyson has reported revenues of $34.2 billion for the first nine months of its current financial year, the period ending July 3, 2021. This represents an increase of 7.9% compared to the same period a year ago.
Revenues for beef were just under $13 billion, up by 6.6% year on year.
Tyson said there was strong global demand for beef and fewer “production inefficiencies” caused by covid-19 than a year earlier. Cattle processing also increased in the third quarter, the company said. This helped offset the effects of severe weather and “a challenging labour environment”.
