Pride of place for bags in new Burberry store concept

Leathergoods and apparel brand Burberry has opened a new flagship store in Sloane Street in London, which the company described as “an iconic destination in the heart of Knightsbridge”, close to where founder, Thomas Burberry, opened his first store 130 years ago.

It is the first store to carry what it says will be a new global store concept. This includes a prominent display area on the ground floor for the brand’s most recent handbag collection. At the time of the opening of the new Sloane Street store, the brand’s Olympia shoulder bag, hand-crafted in Italy, had pride of place in this space. The Pocket Bag and The TB Bag, as well as a range of small leathergoods were also there.

Burberry will open three more flagship stores featuring the same concept in the course of the next 12 months, in Shanghai, Paris and London’s Bond Street.
