Gold rating celebration for Stahl
Leather chemicals manufacturer Stahl has achieved a gold rating for sustainability from EcoVadis, an evidence-based assessment platform that reviews the performance of organisations in meeting a series of sustainability targets.
Paris-based EcoVadis assesses companies’ performance in environmental management, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. It has found Stahl’s performance across all these areas to be gold-rated, placing it within the top 5% of the companies it has assessed.
Stahl said that, in the past year, together with partners from across the value chain, it had further committed to improving its environmental and social performance, protecting the communities in which it operates, and “shaping a better chemical industry”. It has set itself the target of maintaining its EcoVadis Gold rating throughout this decade through continual improvement.
Its sustainability director, Michael Costello, commented: “Our new EcoVadis rating is a great achievement, one delivered through the hard work and dedication of many Stahl colleagues across the world. It underlines our commitment to ensuring a better world for all our stakeholders, and highlights that we are a trusted partner when it comes to environmental, social and corporate governance.”
